oh yeah, that Christmas truce also happened in WW2, on a smaller scale, but none of them were reprimanded afterwards.

That movie sounds pretty heavy, from the wiki-link...

like Paths of Glory (Kubrick), WW1 had some real s.o.b. officers on both sides with their medals up their patois...

but the point is, if someone claims the white man, or America sucks...
they shouldn't be using computers, light bulbs, tennis shoes and toilet paper, or any other of the 10,000,000,000 things we invented (lol).

You said it. Where else can you drive over the speedlimit, yak on your cell, and glide through stop signs in a big SUV pretty much unhindered. ;)

I like to ride my bike so get a little opinionated about the way folks drive - plus I live on Long Island so I may not have a realistic view of how normal people drive.

This is definitely one of the best places to live IMO. However, just cause folks have freedom does not mean they will use it wisely.

By the way have I mentioned 11/2/79 lately, listened to it for the umpteenth time and still love it!!!

Stop making sense, people will hate you...

They say the German snowballs were better made, but they ran out of frozen water so we won the snowball fight.

Hey CPW & JG: recall the Life of Brian where they recount what the Romans have done for them...

Right on topic...

"Today there are about 1.5 billion cows in the world. In many different countries humans and cows have formed close relationships.

The African Masai tribe believes that all cattle were given to them from the great god N'gai at the beginning of time -- a belief which today remains at the heart of their culture. "

damn, forgot the source, but I'm joining the Masai Tribe forthwith!!

"This term is an allusion to the Hindu reverence for cows. The first use in English that I have found of the term 'sacred cow' as a description of the recipient of that long-standing Hindu veneration"

In san francisco one may soon be able for bovinematrimony, besides. "Cows need love too"
STOP THE SLAUGHTER!!!

nobody's legalizing "bovinemarriage" - this is a "talking point" (in this case = hate speech) of the anti gay marriage movement. don't buy into the hate, rastamon - you are much too smart for that.

my favorite new cd is a '67-'72 New Zealand psychedelic rock compilation, "A Day In My Mind's Mind - Volume 2"

Pretty peaceful place nowadays but back in the day, they were as tripped out as the Dead or anybody (in their own way).

La De Da's and Larry's Rebels among them...

I like chocolate, and neutrality is an interesting concept.

What was it Orson Welles said about coo-coo clocks in The Third Man?

Switzerland is nice to immigrants...many natives feel CH is too nice.....and they are attempting to change their laws.

And I'd rater live in many of the US ghettos than in parts of France.
